Intellectual property

Bankside Chambers includes senior barristers who have practised almost exclusively at the intellectual property bar for well over 25 years. Our members include barristers who have appeared in some of of New Zealand’s most important intellectual property litigation.

Our members can advise on all aspects of intellectual property including trade marks, patents, copyright, designs, confidential information, passing off and Fair Trading Act proceedings. Members are also experienced in all aspects of media including print, music, electronic and digital applications.

Our members have represented and continue to represent industry groups, collectives and individuals, as well as RROs and educational establishments. Our members have advised government departments, ministries and quasi-governmental bodies, and also assisted in the drafting of legislation and appeared before Select Committees.
