Property Law

Property law services cover all aspects of advice and representation in relation to personal property and land.

Personal property issues include matters relating to chattels, the Personal Property Securities Act, retention of title arrangements and terms of trade.

Land law includes all aspects of buying, selling, subdividing and developing land. Most people become involved in these transactions at least on a personal basis and frequently it is the largest transaction they are ever involved in.

These transactions frequently involve the making of decisions within severe time constraints and when the consequences can have unchangeable and significant consequences. An example is the need to decide urgently whether an agreement for sale of land should be enforced or cancelled.

Members of Chambers have extensive experience in such cases and in all other areas of land law from leases to mortgagee sales and from rights of ways and easements to caveats.
