Daisy Williams

Daisy Williams holds a LLB (Hons) and a BCom from the University of Auckland. She was admitted to the New Zealand bar in May 2001.

Daisy has acted as counsel in a wide range of commercial disputes, including high-profile intellectual property litigation, judicial review, contract disputes and insolvency matters. She has also advised and acted in connection with both seeking and opposing applications for interim relief and has been appointed by the New Zealand Courts as independent counsel to supervise the execution of search orders (formerly known as Anton Piller orders).

Daisy received a range of academic awards at Auckland Law School including the Auckland District Law Society's Prize as the student with the best overall undergraduate record in law, the New Zealand Law Review Prize for the top student in the first three years of law school, a Senior Prize in Law, the Land Law Prize and a Chapman Tripp research scholarship.

She served as the Judge's Clerk to the Right Honourable Justice Gault at the New Zealand Court of Appeal from 2001 to 2003 and was in practice as a solicitor at Bell Gully in Auckland before joining the separate bar in late 2005, initially to work with Andrew Brown QC.

While accepting instructions in all areas of civil commercial litigation Daisy has particular experience in copyright, trade mark and fair trading litigation in the High Court, as well as advising on trade mark applications and opposition and revocation proceedings before the Commissioner of Trade Marks.
