Damian was admitted to the New Zealand bar in 1995. He is also admitted in England & Wales, New South Wales, the Australian Capital Territory and New York. He has practised law with leading litigation firms in Auckland, Sydney, London and New York.

Damian has previously specialised in criminal law (both defence and prosecution), and tobacco and pharmaceutical litigation. He also has an interest in international law.

Damian's current litigation practice encompasses general commercial litigation, and in particular, land, trust, estate, and employment disputes. Damian has extensive trial experience in a wide range of Courts and other forums.

Damian's academic qualifications include a Masters in International Law from the University of Cambridge.

Career highlights of Damian's include the completion of a mini-pupillage at the Inns of Court in London and a period spent marshaling with the Head Judge of the Old Bailey.
