Rebecca Edwards

Rebecca practices in the civil commercial litigation area with a particular focus on contract, negligence, company and construction disputes. She has acted as counsel in international banking litigation, insolvency disputes, judicial review, and forestry litigation.

Rebecca has appeared before the New Zealand and Cook Island Courts, various arbitral tribunals, and decision making authorities. She is experienced in negotiation and has been involved in numerous mediations.

Rebecca graduated in 1993 with a BA/LLB (Hons) from Auckland University, and a LLM from the University of Virginia in 1995. Before going to the Bar in 2003, she was a senior solicitor with Russell McVeagh in Auckland. Rebecca also worked for Herbert Smith in London where she was involved in cross-border litigation and international arbitration.

Rebecca has advised on a diverse range of issues involving complex factual scenarios and novel questions of law. She has represented large corporations and small investors alike and is experienced in all aspects of dispute resolution.

She has been a director of New Zealand Waterpolo and a member of the Board of Trustees for Rangitoto College
