Toby Futter Toby is the inaugural 'pupil' at Bankside Chambers, and practises in the areas of civil litigation and commercial dispute resolution.
He graduated LL.B(Hons.), B.A. (philosophy, political science) from the University of Auckland in 2006, where he was the recipient of several academic prizes and scholarships, and a representative for Auckland as its first exchange student to the University of Virginia.
Toby joined the litigation and competition teams at Russell McVeagh upon admission to the bar in 2007. Since then he has acted or assisted in a wide range of disputes involving contract, tort, medical law, administrative law, evidence, admiralty, equity, intellectual property, fair trading and consumer protection, competition, fraud, customs, insolvency, and arbitration.
Toby has also held a tutoring position at the University of Auckland since 2007. He currently tutors the law of torts.
