Jane Glover Jane specialises in commercial litigation and has particular expertise in relation to intellectual property. She graduated with a BA/LLB (Hons) from the University of Auckland in 1998 and received a number of academic awards during the course of her undergraduate degree, including the FW de la Mare prize for the top student in Stage III law (awarded biennially). She is currently enrolled in the University of Auckland's LLM programme.
Jane worked initially at Russell McVeagh, practising in the areas of intellectual property litigation and general commercial litigation. She moved to the independent bar in 2001, working as a junior barrister for intellectual property specialist Andrew Brown QC until 2003. She then travelled to the UK and worked in the intellectual property litigation team at Ashurst in London.
Jane rejoined the New Zealand bar in 2006. In addition to her general practice as a barrister, during the period February 2008 to March 2009 she was employed as a consultant to the Royal Commission on Auckland Governance, and authored a number of the chapters of the Commission's report. She was also involved in the subsequent establishment of the Auckland Transition Agency.
Jane became a member of Bankside Chambers in August 2009. She has considerable experience before the New Zealand courts, having appeared in the District and High Courts and as junior counsel in the Court of Appeal. She has also attended a number of mediations.
Jane is a member of the Arbitrators & Mediators Institute of New Zealand, the Intellectual Property Society of Australia and New Zealand and the NZLS Intellectual Property Law Reform Committee. She is also an Executive Committee Member of the Auckland Women Lawyers' Association.
