Bio

Danielle has a broad practice involving public, civil and criminal law. She has extensive experience in inquiries, including appointment as counsel assist to both the Abuse in Care Royal Commission and the Covid-19 Lessons Learned Royal Commission, and involvement with numerous other government and private inquiries and investigations. She also regularly acts as counsel assist in the Coroner’s Court. Danielle has advised and represented clients in judicial reviews and civil matters including tort claims, media law, and declaratory judgments, and has appeared on criminal matters both as prosecutor and defence counsel.  She provides calm and considered advice in complex environments, with compassion and good humour.

Danielle currently also serves as the Attorney General of the Pitcairn Islands.

Prior to joining the bar, she was a lecturer at the University of Auckland in law and society and law of the South Pacific, and has experience working in law reform and government roles in Samoa and Tonga.
