Education

Bio

Nadia is employed by Polly Pope. Nadia is available to assist other barristers by arrangement with Polly. 

 

Nadia's primary practice areas are commercial, construction and insolvency law, with dispute resolution through litigation and arbitration (domestic and international).

Nadia graduated with a Bachelor of Laws with Honours (First Class) from Victoria University of Wellington | Te Herenga Waka. While studying, Nadia:

  • Worked as a Research Assistant and Summer Scholar at the Faculty of Law.  Her research focussed on the laws of evidence, double jeopardy, statutory limitation periods, and hybrid dispute resolution.

  • Held voluntary roles editing the Victoria University of Wellington Law Review, the New Zealand Women's Law Journal and the Public Interest Law Journal of New Zealand.

  • Presented her research on sexual history evidence admissibility at the Law and Gender: Beyond Patriarchy Symposium and was a panellist on the Evidence and Consent panel there.

  • Published in the 2022 Special Edition of the New Zealand Women's Law Journal. 

In 2023 and 2024, before joining Bankside Chambers, Nadia worked as a Judge's Clerk in the High Court at Wellington. She was admitted to the Bar in December 2023.

Nadia has a strong interest in advocacy. She has appeared in the Supreme Court, High Court, District Court and arbitral tribunals. She has also represented clients in construction adjudication and at mediation. In 2025 she completed the Litigation Skills Programme, and in 2026, attended Pozner on Cross-Examination.

 

From 2024 to 2026, Nadia volunteered as an Associate Editor at the New Zealand Women's Law Journal.

 

In 2026, Nadia was part of the first New Zealand team to compete in the Charrett Moot, an Australian moot for professionals in the construction industry.
