Patrick is a junior barrister, employed by Jeremy Johnson.
Patrick assists by providing advisory and advocacy services on matters spanning the full breadth of Jeremy’s practice.
Before joining the junior Bar, Patrick practiced as a litigation lawyer at a leading litigation firm in Auckland, where he specialised in commercial disputes. He appeared as counsel in a range of proceedings in the civil courts and has acted in arbitral proceedings. He also appeared as a Crown prosecutor in criminal proceedings, which included conducting jury trials and appeals on behalf of the Crown.
Patrick has a master’s degree in law from the University of Cambridge, where his studies focused on aspects of private law, and Equity and trusts in particular.
Prior to commencing practice as a lawyer, Patrick was a judges’ clerk at the High Court.
Patrick was called to the bar in 2019.
In addition to his work for Jeremy, Patrick is available to assist other barristers as a junior, on arrangement with Jeremy.
