Bankside barristers Brian Dickey KC, Tiana Epati KC, Sarah Jerebine KC, and Shortland Chambers barrister Kevin Glover KC were sworn in at Auckland's High Court last week, Thursday 30 October 2025, followed by a function at The Northern Club with colleagues, family, and friends.
Over 300 people attended the function after the swearing in ceremony, including members of the judiciary, and previous Bankside members Justice O’Gorman, Justice Johnstone, and Justice Mount.
On 26 September 2025, Attorney-General Judith Collins appointed 11 barristers King’s Counsel, from 107 applicants, with Chief Parliamentary Counsel Cassie Nicholson also appointed.
“The standards to be appointed King’s Counsel are extremely high and I am delighted that our legal profession continues to feature such distinguished individuals,” said Ms Collins. “All of our new King’s Counsel have demonstrated a particular commitment to improving access to justice alongside their excellent work as advisors and litigators. They all have strong links to their communities and significant instances of pro bono, legally aided and similar work.”
Bankside congratulates all new King’s Counsel on this outstanding achievement.
